SPECC, Students Promoting Engagement with Chemistry in the Community, is Davis and Elkins College's now 3-year-old chemistry club for students with chemistry majors and minors. We work to promote education for high school and elementary school students of the opportunity in STEM fields and create publicity for the D&E Chemistry Department.
Our Current Elect-Board
President: Gabby Pealer
Hello! I am a Senior Chemistry and Biology double-major and haved served as the President of SPEC Squared for three consecutive years (and as the VP for one semester when the club was first founded). At D&E College you can also find me in the Naylor Learning Center/Writing Center tutoring, or on weekends in the Science Center as a tutor and chaperone for TRIO Upward Bound. I am a member of the Chi Beta Phi Scientific Fraternity and participate in a few other clubs across campus as well. In my free time, I am a premier-level Scottish Highland dancer and teach several classes in town; during the summer months I spend a lot of time travelling internationally to perform for audiences anywhere between Scotland and the West Coast of the U.S.

Hello! I am senior student at Davis & Elkins College with a Biology & Chemistry double-major and have served as the SPEC Squared Vice President for two years. I am heading into my final season on the tennis team, and wish to attend medical school after graduation. I am also the treasurer of Chi Beta Phi, and a Resident Assistant at Darby Hall. When I’m not hitting the books, you can find me on the tennis court, in the gym, or hanging out with my friends around the beautiful Davis & Elkins campus.

Hi!! I am a Junior here at Davis & Elkins College. I am on the pre-dental/pre-medical pathway, which is a double major with Chemistry and Exercise Science. I am currently on the Women’s Soccer Team, and am very involved on campus. I’m president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of Chi Beta Phi, National Society of Leadership and Success, a Student Ambassador, a Resident Assistant in Moyer Hall, and of course Treasurer of the Chemistry Club!

Hi all! I am currently a Senior at Davis and Elkins and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. My most recent accomplishment has been acceptance into West Virginia University’s Pharmacy School Program, which I plan to attend in the Fall of 2024. I am a current member of the Women’s Golf team, as well as the Captain. I participate in many things around campus, including the SPEC Squared as the Secretary, the National Society of Leadership and Success as the Vice President, the President of all Greek Life, Phi Omega Mu sorority, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. I am also a Residant Assistant! I love to spend time with my friends and family whenever I get the chance. Davis and Elkins has offered me so many opportunities I wouldn’t get at a big school, and with my Chemistry degree, I will be able to pursue a career I love.
